Biography
Curd Bollen graduated as dentist from the Catholic University in Leuven (Belgium). Immediately afterwards, he started a combined program: a PhD (Full-mouth disinfection and hard surface smoothening reduce the subgingival microbial load) and the MSc periodontology under supervision of Prof. dr. D. van Steenberghe. Besides his private practice, he worked part-time at different periodontology departments in Belgium (Leuven & Liège), The Netherlands (Nijmegen) and Germany (Bonn & Düsseldorf). At the latter university he was clinical assistant professor from 2010 till 2012. For the moment he is director of Mondcentrum dr. Bollen, a dental clinic in the Netherlands, specialized in periodontology, halitosis and implantology. He is also president of the Parimplant Research Group. His main research topics are: ceramic dental implants, halitosis and full-mouth disinfection. Dr. Bollen lectures nationally and internationally on these topics.
